Local & International insights and connections for business owners
When you join EO, you join a chapter as well as the Global organization. As part of this local community of entrepreneurs, members participate in regular chapter learning and social events. At these functions, you will have the opportunity to connect with local EO members while benefiting from the knowledge of guest speakers who discuss a variety of business topics. In many cases, these programs capitalize on the availability of high-quality local presenters, educating you on nearby resources and addressing themes in your business community.
ITB (In The Boardroom)
In The Boardroom (ITB) is an initiative launched in 2008 by the local EO UAE Chapter. It is a monthly event, hosted by leaders in both the public and private sectors, who are able to inspire our group of entrepreneurs with insight into their personal accomplishments, their industries and their organizations – all against the mosaic of a rapidly evolving local, regional and indeed, global landscape. The event is intended to be intimate with no more than 12-15 entrepreneurs attending; and convenient, by being held during working hours at the speaker’s office or boardroom. The speaker tells about his background and his organization, as well as his vision and insights moving forward on UAE and the region at large, concluding with a Q&A session. Past speakers include Fadi Ghandour (Aramex), Yogesh Mehta (Petrochem), Sanjay Manchanda, CEO of Nakheel and H.E. Helal Almarri on EXPO 2020. Recently we had an ITB with Ishwar Chugani, CEO & Managing Partner of Giordano Middle East.
LALA (Learn Around, Lunch Around)
LALA is an opportunity to create a peer to peer awareness and to learn more about individual EO members at their work place. Typically, the member hosting the LALA gives a 20-30 minute presentation about their business, followed by a tour of their facility.
Behind The Scenes
Behind the Scenes is a brand new initiative launched in 2011 by the local EO UAE Chapter. Hosted by leading companies/organizations in public and private sectors in the UAE with in depth views into their day to day operations, their achievements, future goals as well as past and present challenges. Last year our members went behind the scenes at the Dubai Metro, Dubai Aviation College and Atlantis the Palm. The most recent event being the Dubai Police Head Quarters and Zabeel Stables.
EO UAE Chapters organises various events not only for members but for their families too. Last year for Kids Fest, a family event was held at The Lakes Club where the children enjoyed a variety of activites and games. A local family retreat took place at The Waldorf Astoria, RAK which encouraged EO members to relax and enjoy the weekend not only with their families but with other members too.
